So 'temp' folder could be 3 or 4 different locations, apparently none of which is what diskcleanup cleans up on my computer. I'm being asked if I want to replace or skip files from old \temp the new \temp. I don't know what that was because even after deleting it, I have stuff in C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Temp 200MB C:\Windows\Temp 30MB an alternate location that I pointed temp to 1GB. I'm currently copying files and folders from an hdd to another and my issue is that when windows is copying from the old hdd it wants to copy files from a (or several) folder(s) in the windows\assembly\temp directory - to the new hdd. Hi, I know it's been a while since this thread was active, but I would like to post a question regarding the directory \temp.
